PKRA Chile - Day3 Single
The wind woke us up already early. The weather was shining, and it was pretty warm in the wind shadows just like yesterday! Meeting was held at 11:30 AM but I was there already a little earlier to pump up my kites, since my heat against Rocky was already the 2nd heat of this day! The wind was up and down all the time... every sice between 7 and 13 would have been perfect for 5 minutes... The choice of ones kite would not only be tricky for me, as a lot of riders struggled with their choices!Finally I decided to take my 9 Yarga! Rocky switched just before the heat from 8 to 10, and also Kevin, who was riding in a parallel heat had his 10! So the misfortune started: Accompaning the sudden light winds was a strong current created by the 10-15 ft waves, which all together made it impossible for me to stay upwind with my small kite! Frontmobe, Backmobe, SwitchBackMobe and BlindJudge3 were according to the judges within the Area, SlimChance, KGB, SwitchFrontmobe, and Switch BlindJudge3 were external! Would these tricks have been inside, I would have beaten Rocky, but in this case the results were clear: Rocky beat me, and faced Kevin in the next round! I was pretty disappointed, even though I am holding a Top10 spot with this 9th place, however with the right kite choice I could have gone further! Well, sometimes things go the other way ;-)
Kevin won the Single once again against Aaron, who still becomes Worldchampion with his 2nd place here! Congratulation to his 4th title! After the Singles the held the wavecontests, however I returned to our house to chill a little! As soon as there will be wind again (probably tomorrow) we are going to have the Doubles: first I have to ride against 2 locals to defend my 9th place, and then I go against Mallory fort he 7th... Lets see whats gonna come ;-)
