Kitestock Event at Perth

Whenever I was thinking of Australia, I was thinking of endless wilderness, lots of dangerous animals, adventurous, etc… Melbourne had definitely been totally different than that, and so I was really excited how Perth in Western Australia would be! And my dream did not get disappointed! We were living at Andres place, who I hereby want to thank one more time for the hospitality and help. His house is just right at the beach, you could hear the waves… a dream!!! Every morning I either went for some surfing or went for a jog at the beach. That is really how I could imagine my own home! After breakfast I usually did some work for my diploma research or studied, and when the sea breeze came at around 11, I went for some great kite sessions…

One weekend one of the biggest kiteevents in Australia was held about 4h north of Perth, which for me is super far, but for the average Australian this is just up the road ;-) This Testival Event was organized by all the kite companies to give customers a chance to try as many different kites and boards as possible, and was accompanied by good parties and lots of fun!!! On our way to the event we drove through heaps of natural parks and resorts, and we kinda got to see all the cool animals you wanna see in OZ: kangaroos, emus, … it was just amazing to experience all this wilderness and purity! I was representing Fone together with the Australian importer and it worked out great. The crowd was mega happy with the Bandit3 and the new boards… very successful!!!

Jac really worked hard and got some nice pictures and sequences, some of them will for sure go on the one or other cover!!! At the end we could get some time for ourselves, just relaxed and enjoyed the amazing kiting conditions. We made some incredible downwinders strapless on the surfboard or had sick Freestyle sessions at Woodmans Point or Safety Bay. In the evenings we grilled Kangaroo steak with friends, had some beers and lived our lives to the fullest… I just wanna move here ;-)

Now I am already on the plane back home, where I will have to work for about 2 weeks. Then I fly back to Thailand, so my schedule is full on :-) I have updated the foto Gallery with the latest pics!!! I will try to get the sequences edited and get the action shots to the magazines asap… always stuff to do ;-)
