The Source & The Bandit 4

The last week here in Montpellier, the Headquarter of Fone, was extremely busy and stressful as Fone will be on summer vacation next week and we had to get a pressmeeting, videos and fotos done before that. During those 7 days we presented the new Source and Bandit4. Over 8 hours at the beach daily, lots of kiting, work but also fun, made it a really cool experience…

The brand new Fone Source will be the new Lightwind Weapon. It is a 2 Line Kite (yeah I know, back to the roots, back to the SOURCE!!!) between 7 and 17 sqm. You use it in combo with a Stand Up Paddle Board in as light as 5 knots of wind. It is really stylish, to ride strapless in almost no breeze, throwing one trick after the other. It is created for pure light wind, as as soon the wind picks up to 12-14 knots you are almost over powered. It was one of my best kiting days ever, and these 4-5h daily on the water rank all the way up in my favorite days! I love the 13 and 15 the most, as they give me the best combination of size and speed! As there will be an extra Dealermeeting in Mauritius in September, I do not want to give too many details about the Bandit 4 away. Also the 2011 Boards will have some really cut-edge features, some of which already have a new patent! I already flew the B4 in pretty much all the sizes 6-12qm, and it definitely beats the B3 in every single aspect. As it only has 3 struts, the kite will be extremely light and fast, and the C-like Tips give the kite an even more direct and fast feeling while still attaining near 100% depower! Raph, Silvain and Micka did a great job designing this new Bandit, and I am so happy to ride it in 2010/2011. Fone even picked me, for all the pictures of the Manual, so I will be in every little booklet of the kite ;-)

The Source will be available in the 3rd week of August, and the Bandit4 together with the new Surfboards and Twins will follow end of September. I have to say that every single product, be it the new Trax, Acid, Bandit or Surfboard has been improved to last years, this is just amazing great team work between the testers, teamriders, shapers and designers!

Now I am already on the flight to Fuerteventura for the next stop of the PKRA, and then I will be on a Sooruz trip to a wavecontest in Teneriffa for a week! I have filmed lots in France, and I will try to find some time to get the video edited so I can upload some more action besides all the stills! I will also try to create a Gallery with some more pictures from here in Montpellier, but I have already attached a lot of sneak previews of the new products in this article.
